Lincoln Community Foundation Recognized as Family-Friendly Workplace

Lincoln Community Foundation (LCF) recently received certification as a Family-Friendly Workplace. The new program by Lincoln Littles and Lincoln Partnership for Economic Development (LPED) recognizes employers who demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting working families with young children, implement family-friendly workplace practices for their employees and help make Lincoln a great place to live, work and play by prioritizing family well-being and early childhood support.

“Working parents are often faced with immense challenges,” said LCF President Tracy Edgerton. “This certification reflects our ongoing commitment as an employer to building a workplace culture that enables our team to thrive both inside and outside the office.”

The Lincoln Family-Friendly Workplace Certification lifts up policies and practices that businesses can implement to support working parents such as childcare assistance, flexible work scheduling and paid/unpaid leave. Employers that meet at least 7 out of 10 qualifying criteria receive the Lincoln Family-Friendly Workplace Certification.

“Family-friendly policies are not just good for employees; they strengthen the whole organization,” said LPED Director of Talent Development Allison Hatch. “Companies that adopt these approaches often experience lower absenteeism, reduced healthcare costs and a healthier, more resilient workplace culture.”

Additional organizations that also earned certification include Ameritas, the City of Lincoln, Don't Panic Labs, First National Bank of Omaha, the Lincoln Children's Zoo, Lincoln Electric System, Primrose's schools at Hudl and Wilderness Hills, Schemmer, TMCO and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

“Lincoln Community Foundation has been a longtime champion for innovative childcare solutions,” said Lincoln Littles Executive Director Anne Brandt. “While supporting the broader community, they also consider their employees in a holistic sense. We’re grateful for their leadership and commitment to improving access to both employment and childcare.”

Future applications will be reviewed quarterly by the Lincoln Littles Board of Advisors Engagement Committee.
